¡Hola Familia!

¿Cómo están todos? Yo espero bien. This last week was great, another
slow one but another good one. We had a crazy week with interviews
with President, a zone meeting, and exchanges. So it was a crazy week
for trainings! We also spent like 4 hours at the doctor one day for
Hermana Boyson's toe! Nothing is wrong with it thank goodness but the
doctor's office sure was slow!

We had one lesson this week. We taught Jennifer (the recent convert)
but her cousins were all there and it turned into a miracle. We talked
about the Book of Mormon and they absolutely loved it! They knew it
was true the second they heard it and as we drove away we saw them
already reading out of their new books. It was so much fun to see and
we have another lesson with them tonight! I have a feeling it's going
to be good!

The members have been awesome here and we've had a dinner appointment
about every night we've been here and so we have lots of active member
lessons! I love those just as much though, I love helping everyone and
anyone come closer to Christ. The Atonement really can be applied at
any stage of life, we'll always be in need of the Atonement.

We've talked to lots of people on the streets and we found a house
full of Hispanics. JACKPOT. And the best part is they're not single
men, it's a family!! so we definitely will be going back to that house
this week.

We've been trying hard to search for people who are interested and we
have had no luck. But I know with all my heart there are people here
who are prepared. We're just going to get a little creative to find
them and Hermana Boyson and I have some ideas up our sleeves.

There are so many less active Spanish speakers here though and we're
getting a little Spanish sacrament meeting ready coming up in a couple
weeks and we're hoping we can get a hold of all the less actives. The
stake president said if we have some success with these meetings we
could create a Spanish branch in this area. We're going to get it!
We've been busy making cookies all day so we have an excuse to show up
at the less active's homes this week!

The other night we were out tracting around 8:00 and we were talking
to this one lady and she got us all scared. She told us we were in a
too dangerous part of town and to get in the car and get home. So we
were all scared and we went home and went to bed a little later. We
woke up at 4:00 am to gun shots in our apartment complex and flash
lights shining through our windows. I had never been so scared in my
life. I made sure I could reach the baseball bat and pepper spray and
I almost jumped in the closet to hide! The next morning we called
President and told him about it and he said, "Welcome to Louisville!"
It was so scary and I honestly thought I was going to die but my
testimony grew so much that night of the awareness of my Heavenly
Father. We really are so protected as missionaries and I know we have
angels surrounding us. And the good news is there's a sherif that
lives down the street and he's a member of the ward and we got his
number on speed dial! We are so protected.

I'm sorry these emails have been pretty lame. We're going to find some
people this week and have so many lessons that next week you're going
to have something to read about! I really love you all so very much
and can't even tell you how grateful I am for all of the love and
prayers. Keep sending them our way because they mean more than you
know! I love you and be happy. Because life is too short to be
anything else.

Con Amor,
Hermana Swapp

PS: "Wherefore, whoso believeth in God might with surety hope for a
better world, yea, even a place at the right hand of God, which hope
cometh of faith, maketh an anchor to the souls of men, which would
make them sure and steadfast, always abounding in good works, being
led to glorify God." -Ether 12:4
